Le désir du désir sans fin is the title of the capriccio composed by VINCENZO PARISI commissioned by the UniMi Orchestra which will be premiered Tuesday 14 February at the Aula Magna of the University of Milan.
The piece, written for the unusual ensemble consisting of flute, viola, harp and orchestra, is a musical metaphor, a ménage à trois involving the three solo instruments and the orchestra in a very personal celebration of Valentine’s Day. Starting from the erotic poetry of Joyce Mansour, a French-speaking Egyptian surrealist poet, Le désir du désir sans fin investigates the restless drive of the human being towards the inexhaustible call of love and the creative energy that the body moves more than the mind.
